QPR have been told they must fork out over £3million if they want to sign winger Wayne Routledge from Tottenham.

Rangers make a £1.5m bid last week but were told to double their offer for the former Crystal Palace player.

Routledge has started just three games for Spurs in two and a half years and spent last season on loan at Fulham.

The Loftus Road club will decide this week whether to make Routledge their record signing.

Chairman Gianni Paladini said…

‘Wayne would do well here but although we now have solid finances, nobody is going to pay silly money.’

Rangers are thought to have offered birthday boy Wayne, who will celebrate his 23rd birthday on Monday 7 January around £25,000 a week.
