Queens Park Rangers full-back Peter Ramage has warned his team-mates of the danger that Cardiff City striker Michael Chopra provides.

Chopra, who has been outlined as the One to Watch this weekend, started out with Ramage at Newcastle as both came through the ranks at St James’ Park.

Ramage told QPR.co.uk that he could tell even from those early days that his friend would have a good future in the game.

‘He’s a goalscorer, simple as that,’ he said.

‘I’ve known him since I was nine years-old and even then you could tell he had a bright future in the game.

‘Of course his problems have been well documented, but I think he’s found a boss in Dave Jones who he really feels he can work with, and he’s bang in form at the moment.’

The two will pit their wits against each other this weekend as QPR travel to the newly built Cardiff City Stadium, and Ramage is all too aware of the dangers that Chopra possesses.

‘He’s a very intelligent player,” he said.

‘He likes to drop off and receive the ball and he can bring other players into play too.

‘We’ll need to be wary of him, but it’s up to us to make our own mark on the game.’

Chopra has hit a rich vein of form this season and already sits proudly atop of the Championship goalscoring charts following his permanent move from Sunderland.
