Paul Gooch, a loyal Queens Park Rangers supporter and popular figure around Loftus Road, passed away on the last game of the season it was announced today.

Goochie was indeed one of our own as Queens Park Rangers fans, as well as being a long term servant to amateur refereeing. He could be seen at both home and away fixtures, earning him the title of Loyal Supporters Association – Supporter of the year.

A regular fixture along the South Africa Road before home games, Goochie was always readily approachable and always chatting away with someone, whether they be home or opposition fans.

One of Loftus Road`s most colourful characters, his appearance and disposition never changed in a lifetime of support with the R`s. His suit jacket with a turned up collar shirt became synonymous with the man that was Goochie.

Paul Gooch was believed to have died of natural causes on Sunday 4th May after collapsing near his home.

Here’s to hoping his contribution to the club and continued support is recognised in the matchday programme next season

Vital QPR joins with all other Queens Park Rangers websites to offer its condolences to the family and friends of Paul Gooch. May he rest in piece.
