Queens Park Rangers youth product Romone Rose has joined League Two side Northampton Town on loan.

Rose played on trial with the Cobblers in their defeat against the Milton Keynes Dons, and came in for praise from boss Stuart Gray.

He has since penned a one-month loan deal at the Sixfields Stadium and looks set to start against Macclesfield Town this weekend in the opening game of the season.

The he can look forward to the chance of emulating QPR`s feats at the weekend as Northampton take on Southampton in the Carling Cup – a tie he has been made eligible for.

Boss Stuart Gray told ntfc.co.uk: ‘We have been looking for a right winger with pace and Romone has that.

‘I was impressed with him and his attitude last weekend. It all happened rather quickly, but he got into his car and made the effort to drive to Milton Keynes and come and play for us as a trialist.

‘He hadn’t met the lads before the game, but he got on the pitch early and he showed glimpses of what he can do. He has been training with us this week and I am sure that has helped him settle in and prepare him for the month ahead.”

Vital QPR would like to wish Romone the best of luck
