QPR target rejects European move, paving way for potential transfer – report

|

Former Nottingham Forest defender Alexander Milosevic is currently a free agent – and there are now over 10 teams wanting to snap him up.

According to reports from Swedish outlet Expressen, the defender – whose deal was cut short at the City Ground in October – has now snubbed a deal to move back to his native country, leaving a potential move to QPR wide open.

IFK Gothenburg reportedly made some impressive terms to the 28-year-old, however, he snubbed the offer.

Considering the player is out of contract, he is free to join the R’s outside of the transfer window, with The Sun stating that a move is being readied by Mark Warburton’s side.

The same report claims that an agent says that the interest in Milosevic is ‘now into double figures’.

With only Luton Town conceding more goals than Rangers this season, this move would surely be a welcomed arrival at the club as they look to shore up their defence.

The former Besiktas defender has reportedly been training with AIK to keep his fitness at a good level, which included a trip to Marbella as part of their training camp, but it is said that this arrangement has now finished.

Would Alexander Milosevic be a good signing?

Yes

No

Not sure

Taking a closer look at Milosevic, he had a decent spell playing for Forest after joining last February, playing in 12 matches and scoring the one goal. However, upon Sabri Lamouchi’s arrival, he was swiftly moved way down the pecking order and failed to play a single competitive match under him before he and the club agreed to terminate his contract early.

With Toni Leistner departing West London in late January, there is definitely a space for another centre back, with Grant Hall, Yoann Barbet and Conor Masterson being the only obvious centre-halves at the club at the moment. Geoff Cameron and Dominic Ball also have the ability to play there, but they have not been preferred in that position this season.

Surely the club could do no harm in adding Milosevic – even on a short-term deal – as they will be adding a player with Championship and international experience.
