Queens Park Rangers’ fixture against Crystal Palace was called off this evening owing to a waterlogged pitch.

Loftus Road and surrounding areas fell foul of the weather this evening, with torrential conditions making the pitch unplayable.

The discussion seemed to centre around a section of turf on the touchline of the Ellerslie Road stand, which was completely submerged in water.

Down the road, neighbours Chelsea were able to get their Champions League fixture against FC Porto underway, but similar conditions made for a slick surface at the Bridge.

With surrounding roads still sodden and the rain falling heavily, many took refuge in the Springbok, making for a sauna-like atmosphere.

Eventually the crowd dispersed and the supporters and Magilton are left to contemplate a tricky clash against Cardiff City on Saturday, before returning to Loftus Road in a must win game against Barnsley.
