QPR Never Made A Bid – Warnock

Neil Warnock has spoken out after losing Tom Soares to Stoke City, claiming that Ben Watson may still have a place in the Eagles line-up.

After rejecting Nottingham Forest, Ben Watson seemed destined for W12 with Warnock himself stating that the player wanted to join QPR. However there was one man in the chain that scuppered the deal – Rangers boss Iain Dowie.

It seems while Crystal Palace wanted to argue over the price, Rangers went out and bought a host of talent including Emmanuel Ledesma and Daniel Parejo on loan, the first set to sign pending a successful loan spell.

Following the sale of Tom Soares, Palace manager Neil Warnock said,

‘I didn’t really want to lose him (Soares) but they kept increasing their offer and in the end, with the Ben Watson deal falling through, I felt we had to do something,’

‘Ben turned down personal terms from Forest and his agent said he wanted to go to QPR, but they never came in for him. I don’t know if he will play, I will have a chat with him.’

It seems that Watson may well figure again in a Palace shirt, as the want-away midfielder never got his move to W12. Meaning Palace have lost a talent in Soares, and retain an unsettled pro in Watson.
