A rumoured target has decided to take up coaching in the Premier League rather than continue his playing career.
The former Turkish international was destined to leave Ewood Park this summer after his contract was not renewed by boss Sam Allardyce.
Queens Park Rangers emerged as candidates to capture his signature in an effort to keep him playing for a further year, but today he opted to finish his playing career.
Speaking to Turkish television channel NTV he explained how he has opted to join former boss Mark Hughes at Manchester City.
He said: ‘I made an agreement with Manchester City and will work as a coach,’
‘To work there will be a huge step for me. When I feel strong enough, then I will begin to work as a technical director.’
