QPR Midfielder Shines As Season Goes From Bad To Worse

|

With a largely disastrous start to the 2018/19 Championship campaign for Queens Park Rangers, despite some improvements in last night’s clash against Bristol City we still fell to a 3-0 defeat.

The turning point was largely their opening goal on the day as we rarely troubled them after we’d taken that confidence knock and they grew in stature as we expectedly shrank. Ahead of their goal, there was some reaction from the players to the West Bromwich Albion hammering and we could’ve drawn level with chances falling to Matt Smith and Ebere Eze, but after that there was little to pick out other than individual defensive efforts to save a bad day getting worse.

Seeing Josh Scowen come out as Whoscored’s top rated performer probably isn’t a surprise for many as the midfielder tried to do a job at both ends of the pitch.

Two shots on target from two, two key passes, 64 touches and eight aerials won show Scowen put in the yards but his pass accuracy was only 62% which is a disappointment. Four tackles, two clearances and three fouls show he mixed it defensively as well, so he probably more than deserved his overall rating of 7.18.

Jake Bidwell came a close second with 6.76 and new signing and debutant Angel Rangel polled 6.46.
