QPR Man Identified By The FA For Surprise Technical Role

|

It’s being reported this afternoon that following the news this week that former West Bromwich Albion Director Dan Ashworth was heading out of the Football Association to take up a Technical role with Brighton and Hove Albion, the FA had put Queens Park Rangers’ Les Ferdinand on their shortlist to replace him.

Ashworth is set to leave his current role at the end of the year to take up the new position at the Amex Stadium, but Sky Sports have claimed Ferdinand features highly on a list of possible replacements as the FA’s search for a new man has already begun.

The former England man is said to be the early favourite and I think it’s fair to say that will come as a shock to many QPR fans given the criticisms and complaints from within the fanbase about our former players’ relative merits in the job.

Whilst a number of fans are happy to blame him for everything and everything when it comes to sales and recruitment, others give him slightly more leeway as he has to follow orders as well given our Financial Fair Play decision, and there are those out there who will say if the FA are sniffing around the 51-year-old it shows possibly how underrated he is with us.

There’s guaranteed to be a split on this news though.
