QPR Man Backs Up Former Players’ Heart Felt Post-Game Interview

|

I’m sure all Queens Park Rangers fans are aware of former player Charlie Austin’s impassioned interview last weekend after he was denied what could’ve been a very important goal for Southampton in their Premier League battle with Watford at St Mary’s Stadium.

Having seen his goal wrongly disallowed, presumably with the referee believing it had been touched by offside Maya Yoshida, his post-game interview with the BBC was certainly unique and novel.

No bad language, no abuse, no childish barbs at the officials, but he also didn’t hold back in his criticism of them getting the decision wrong but rather that blaming them really, he spoke of the stature of the top-flight in this country and questioned why referee’s and officials weren’t given every ounce of help available – ie Video Assistant Referee technology – so mistakes as obvious as that didn’t happen.

He also saw his interview set to Parklife which was quite funny – but the point remains, his words were spot on for me and I wasn’t alone in agreeing with him.

Cue obvious calls for Austin to return to QPR in response to Amit!
