QPR Make Progress In Manager Search But Fans Are Left Wondering

|

On Wednesday, Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand confirmed that talks with potential future managers continued at Loftus Road, but as of yet, we haven’t compiled a firm shortlist of our preferred targets.

Ferdinand confirmed that Tim Sherwood remained a possible candidate moving forward, but so did Mark Warburton, Darren Moore, Marc Bircham and Michael Appleton to name just four more with initial interviews already held.

In some ways, given the plan seemed to be caretaker gaffer John Eustace would try and steady the ship until the summer as we looked to make ourselves safe from relegation, no shortlist yet shouldn’t be a surprise as we take our time to try and ensure this appointment is right.

With safety now secured, it does give additional freedom to extend the interview process and get people back for deeper conversations if we want, so we’ll have to see if it ultimately works out for us.

“We’ve interviewed quite a few so far and we’re just trying to compile a shortlist from the ones we have interviewed. John Eustace, Matt Gardiner and Chris Ramsey have done a good job, getting us into a position where we are safe this season, so we can probably extend the process a little bit longer. We’re toying with the idea whether to bring someone in before the end of the season but it all depends on who blows us away.”

His interview with Sky Sports then went on to name some of those we’ve already spoken to but it still seems incredibly open.
