QPR Linked With Another Villa Striker – He’d Certainly Offer Something Different

|

Over the weekend Queens Park Rangers were being linked with another potential raid on a Premier League side, and this time the rumours were young Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis.

The 21-year-old has been hit with recent injury problems that have significantly held his game time back but Aston Villa fans continue to have high hopes for his development but he definitely needs game time and to discover a goal scoring touch.

I’m not actually sure I’ve seen the youngster play but according to Soccerbase their Academy graduate has reasonable game time for his age with 18 starting appearances and a further 26 showings from the substitutes bench, but he has only returned three goals.

The goal return I imagine will raise question marks in the QPR fanbase, but according to our friends at Vital Villa, the lad’s strength is in his hold up and physical play and when he stepped into the first team for them, particularly in the 2017/18 campaign (30 appearances/three goals), he had a major impact in leading the line during Jonathan Kodjia’s spells out injured.

I think he’d certainly be an alternative option up front, especially if the speculation linking Millwall with a move for Matt Smith proves to be true.

Hull City, Swansea City and Preston North End are also linked with him though so any deal for the former England Under 20 international might go until late on in the transfer window.
