Queens Park Rangers confirmed their retained and released list this week and with plenty of fans regularly calling for a short contract extension for experience and popular defender Angel Rangel, they have had their calls answered as we have confirmed he has been offered a new deal.
Departing us this summer when their existing contracts naturally expire are Alex Baptiste, Jake Bidwell, Jordan Cousins, Joel Lynch and Pawel Wszolek and reaction to that news has been slightly mixed – especially Pawel, but most appreciate some of these decisions would’ve been more financial based than anything else.
Loanees Nahki Wells, Tomer Hemed and Geoff Cameron naturally return to their parent clubs so we’ll have to see if new manager Mark Warburton makes a move to bring any of them back.
But along with Rangel’s new offer, Seny Dieng has also been offered a deal.
Let’s see now who we bring in and whether we can hit the ground running at the start of next season. Let’s also see if I’m made to look a little bit silly with a story going out after news has already broken!
