Queens Park Rangers fans have voted in the latest poll to back Burnley in the Championship Playoff Final.

The Clarets fought their way to the playoff final by beating Reading with two stunning strikes from hitmen Martin Paterson and Steven Thompson.

In what they have branded ‘capital punishment,` Burnley have seen off a number of London sides this season, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham while running Tottenham Hotspur right down to the wire in the Carling Cup.

Owen Coyle has rejuvenated Turf Moor with a stylish brand of passing football and Premier League talent such as Chris Eagles has complimented the sheer grit and determination of seasoned professionals such as Graham Alexander. The veteran Scotsman has played every game this season – not bad for a 37-year-old.

All this and more has prompted QPR fans to back the Clarets in the richest game in football – with the winner standing to gain a staggering £60million, which is more than the Champions League Final.

The voting went as follows:

Burnley – 58%
Sheffield United – 42%

With that issue to be settled this afternoon, we look to something that has already been decided as the Championship new boys have worked they into the league.

With the relegation line-up confirmed yesterday combined with Scunthorpe`s dramatic victory over Millwall at Wembley, we ask the following:

Which new ground are you looking forward to the most?

  • Good luck to both sides, lets hope it’s the war of the roses that we all want!! I must admit there’s something about Burnley that I like and for that I hope they nick it!

  • Took a while to get into the game but Clarets are one up – and now looking good for the lead at HT. Chris McCann taken off injured and Joey Gudjonsson on in his stead.
