QPR Expecting Another Departure Even Though The Transfer Window Is Shut

|

It’s been reported this week that young Queens Park Rangers defender Giles Phillips could be set for a US adventure as he’s reportedly headed out to MLS side New England Revolution to join them on their Marbella training camp ahead of a potential loan deal.

The report came from Football.London originally I believe.

Although the UK transfer window closed at the end of last month, some divisions, including the MLS, remain open for business and New England Revolution are gearing up for their new season at a warm weather training camp in Marbella as their pre-season continues, and the 21-year-old has joined them effectively on trial as he looks to continue his own development in the game and taste first team action.

It’s suggested it’ll be a loan deal for their season but it should be a good experience for the lad if the deal actually gets done.

He has recently signed a contract extension at Loftus Road keeping him with us until 2020 and already being an American citizen, there’s no complication in completing the deal.

Reports last night said it was now a done deal but at time of typing I can’t see confirmation, so that’ll probably be through later today.
