QPR Duo Return To The Pitch In Southampton Friendly

|

On Wednesday afternoon Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren took his team to Southampton’s training ground for a behind closed doors friendly.

With McClaren looking to turn our long standing woeful and inconsistent form around, I imagine he’ll have been relatively pleased with our efforts on the day as we seek improvement over the March international break.

QPR did lose the game 3-2, but we came back from behind on two occasions with goals coming from Pawel Wszolek and Jordan Cousins, but the main headline from the day was the return to the pitch for Angel Rangel.

The 36-year-old has impressed many since his arrival from Swansea City over the summer, but he has missed the last three and a half months with injury. Added to Geoff Cameron’s own injury layoff given his impact, well, they’ve been missed.

Rangel got his first 45 minutes back in his tank, and Cameron built on his return against Hull last weekend and got the full 90 under his belt to bring him on further.

McClaren was rightly pleased with the returns from a fitness point of view and he admitted Rangel may now come back into his thoughts for the next match against Bolton Wanderers.
