Queens Park Rangers have come away from the Italian tour with the Trofeo Bartolotti

In a unique tournament comprising of three 45 minute matches QPR came through with pre-season silverwear.

Jay Bothroyd was the solitary goalscorer against SC Braga of Portugal when he latched onto a pin-point Adel Taarabt cross.

Following a share of the spoils between Braga and Atalanta, QPR knew a draw would be enough for them to take the trophy.

Rangers got off to the best start in the final fixture against Atalanta when Alejandro Faurlín opened the scoring.

Simone Padoin equalised moments later as the fixture went to penalties. Trialist Brian Murphy saved a spot kick while Bothroyd, Taarabt and Bradley Orr struck in a 3-2 penalty victory.

Rangers now return home to face Football League new boys, Crawley and Blue Square Premier side Luton Town.
