Yesterday evening Queens Park Rangers confirmed the speculation from earlier in the week and announced the appointment of former Brentford, Rangers and Nottingham Forest gaffer Mark Warburton as the new man in our hot seat ahead of the coming 2019/10 campaign.

With another poor year seeing the departure of manager Steve McClaren, despite some renewed optimism earlier in the season, caretaker gaffer John Eustace got us over the Championship safety line and the QPR Board certainly took their time to decide on our new man.

With Warburton being one of the more popular managers linked over the last few weeks, coming in on a two year deal saw plenty of fans on social media take the opportunity to make a few God awful puns based on his surname, but if they don’t bring a smile to your face I’ll be surprised.

Fair Warning – not all of the attempts actually worked!

Let’s hope we’re smiling for different reasons come next season.
