Queens Park Rangers have appointed former player Stephen Lynch as part of their scouting network in Ireland.

Lynch spent time as a YTS at Loftus Road before penning a two year deal in W12 – he is now charged with finding young talent in Ireland.

The newest addition to Rangers backroom staff was delighted to be joining the club he holds dear, with boss Jim Magilton equally as happy with his appointment.

Magilton told QPR.co.uk: ‘Stephen is a fantastic football man.

‘It’s great for us to have him out there looking for the best young talent Ireland has coming through.

‘I’m really pleased we’ve managed to bring him in.’

After a brief spell at Loftus Road Lynch spent time with Newcastle United, Portadown and Crusaders, he now has close ties with St Oliver Plunkett FC in Belfast.
