NEIL Warnock has admitted that Petter Vaagan Moen has been unlucky in his pursuit for a first team spot

The midfielder who signed with a good reputation from SK Brann has made only seven league appearances for QPR and now seems destined to depart following his omission from the R’s squad.

Warnock told West London Sport that the Norwegian international has been unfortunate considering the form of Shaun Derry and Alejandro Faurlín.

He said: Warnock said: “I think Petter will make a living in England. There`s a number of clubs talking about taking him on loan and we`ll now decide where he can go.

“He`s been unlucky really, because he would have taken Ale Faurlin`s place but Ale`s never been injured and has had a fantastic time since I`ve been here.

“That [central midfield] is where I see Petter`s best position and when I did the squad I had to look at the area I saw him going.

“I didn`t put him in for that one position because there are other players who can play in three positions, and in a squad of 25 that`s important.”

The midfielder is now set to leave on loan to a Championship club, due to his ineligibility to play in the Premier League.

His first start in a Rangers shirt nearly saw him score a spectacular strike, fizzing one off the cross bar from 40-yards against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup.
