Having called on the Queens Park Rangers side to put in a similar performance to the Wolverhampton Wanderers showing in the build up to Bolton Wanderers at the weekend manager Ian Holloway was delighted to see the side do just that as we kept plugging away to take all three points.

Hosting Bolton at Loftus Road for the game, Joel Lynch opened the scoring after they were reduced to ten men, and Matt Smith secured the win with a second as the full time whistle approached.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media following the full time whistle, a delighted Ollie explained.

‘Today was a big game – and that`s a big win for us. We were very professional from start to finish. We need results at the right time and a game like this was absolutely vital for us. If it had gone the other way, where would we be? But it feels really nice that we`ve won another of those important games against teams below us so I`m delighted for the lads.’

Holloway went on to credit Bolton for their battling efforts across the game, and he conceded the match did turn on the red card.

‘It was tough. They made it very tough for us. Obviously the game-changer was the referee`s decision to send someone off. But before and after that, I was very pleased with how we worked the ball and kept our width. I`m delighted we managed to get two goals. Overall that`s as pleased as I`ve been for quite a while because those are tough games.’

There was also specific praise for both of the goalscorers on the day, and he added.

‘They`re both in the best shape of their lives. They`ve both worked so hard week after week to get to where I want them to be. Matt`s been doing this all his life – causing problems and proving a real threat. He`s getting fitter and better all the time. Lynchy has worked tirelessly too. He was excellent today and deserved to come off the pitch to the reception he and his team-mates got.’

On to Sheffield United later tonight and hopefully we can really build some momentum as we close out the current campaign.
