Queens Park Rangers fans didn’t quite know what to expect when 28-year-old Toni Leistner arrived at the club over the summer as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with German side Union Berlin.

It was a choppy start to life at Loftus Road given our early season struggles under former manager Steve McClaren, but as our form and performances improved – and he adjusted to the Championship level – fans took the BFG into their hearts and at points he has been very impressive for us.

Sadly as our form tailed off, so did the form of all players on an individual front but Leistner’s efforts on the pitch continue to see him warmly regarded at the club a we now look for significant improvement over the summer ahead of the coming 2019/20 campaign.

With caretaker gaffer John Eustace falling to yet another defeat at the weekend as we faced Nottingham Forest, given our chances on the day the 1-0 loss was a sickener but plenty of fans appreciated Leistner’s message on social media.
