With a number of Queens Park Rangers fans becoming transfixed on the lack of striking options at the club, Monday gave us some more departure speculation as it was being claimed that Darnell Furlong was on the verge of signing a deal with fellow Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
On Tuesday, the transfer of the 23-year-old Academy graduate was confirmed and it’s being reported as a £1.5million deal even though it’s officially undisclosed from our end.
👋 So long, Darnell.
After a decade with #QPR, @DarnellFurlong has left to join West Bromwich Albion.

With some having a less than understanding view of the transfer, especially in light of the claimed fee on Monday, that didn’t really improve (as you can read for yourselves) when the club confirmed the deal on their social media account but plenty were happy to wish him the best as he begins a new chapter in his career.
Whether QPR ultimately end up regretting this, if his sale funds the arrival of a suitable striker now I think most would accept it.
Good luck Darnell. One of the good ones for us. Honestly hope he goes a long way in his career. Gutted.

All the best Darnell. Always gave 100% and was a credit to the club. One of the ones who shouldn’t be leaving.

This one hurts. Best of luck to you Darnell.

Shame on you @QPR. Good luck Darnell. One of our own.

Really cant believe we have done this. Poor from all. 1.5m for a young English rb. Really am losing love for my club.

Been with us over 10 years yet gets the bleak standard farewell. Club is a joke atm and only going one way. I wish Darnell all the luck at West Brom

I thought Darnell would be regular this season, I guess he will be elsewhere. Best of luck.
