Jermaine Jenas was a surprise signing on January transfer deadline day, with many believing that his injury record and his distinct lack of Premier League appearances in recent times would contribute little to the cause.
Jenas in fact proved to be a useful acquisition. He did however start off slowly, most probably due to fitness issues – once he picked up, the former Spurs man weighed in with a couple of goals and linked up well with his respective central midfield partners.
He was far from a stand out performer, but he was adequate, and had Jenas been in place throughout the season, Rangers would have had a better fighting chance for sure. His experience could prove invaluable in the Championship next term.
