MATT Phillips popped up at the death to rescue a point for Queens Park Rangers at the Macron Stadium.

Zach Clough’s fine drive from distance had separated the sides in an otherwise error-strewn encounter. The forward appeared entirely out of place for the most part of the fixture having seen an equally audacious over-head kick drift just past the post.

Rangers appeared to be ambling towards a defeat despite a flurry of late changes from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, but it was Phillips that left it late to step forward and level the encounter in the dying moments.

Hasselbaink will know his side got out of jail in another tepid display – but the Trotters will undoubtedly be kicking themselves as they look to try and haul themselves to safety.
