MATT Phillips has today left Queens Park Rangers to join West Bromwich Albion

The 25-year-old wide-man finally joins Tony Pulis after over a year of chasing the Scottish international.

After joining Harry Redknapp’s side in 2013 and helping the R’s to promotion – Phillips has endured a tough and rather inconsistent spell to his QPR career.

His performances, some inexplicably as a centre forward, were rather inconsistent and the glittering moments of ability were all too infrequent.

The fee is believed to be in the region of £5.5m, which while an ample fee, is eclipsed by Rangers’ valuation last summer.

He scored 14 goals in 92 appearances for Rangers and his departure will at the very least give Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink more to work with in assembling a squad capable of challenging for the top six.
