Queens Park Rangers have announced that due to an incredible demand for season tickets, a cap has been placed on sales.

There now remains only a few hundred season tickets after Deputy Managing Director Ali Russell took the decision to cap season ticket sales at 10,000.

‘The response from our supporters has been incredible.” He told QPR.co.uk.

‘Our Season Ticket holders have enjoyed fantastic savings compared to buying tickets on a match-by-match basis, which is a just reward to them for their continued support.”

The reasoning behind the capping was to enable supporters without season tickets a fair opportunity to see the R`s.

‘By capping the Season Tickets at 10,000, we’re allowing those supporters who can’t necessarily afford a Season Ticket or can’t make it down to Loftus Road every Saturday or midweek match, to have the opportunity to purchase tickets on a match-by-match basis.”

Russell continued by paying thanks to Rangers existing supporters and staff, with special attention to the fans who have remained loyal to the club through some tough times.

‘I would just like to say a massive thank you to all our committed fans who have remained loyal to the Club during some difficult times in the past and have seen what a positive future lies ahead for Queens Park Rangers.”

‘I would also like to say a special thank you to the Box Office for dealing with such demands, at a time when the Club, the seating structure and the stadium was going through some major changes.’

‘The demand for Season Tickets has been amazing,’ Russell rounded off

‘We’ve been inundated with renewals and new Season Ticket holders ever since the tickets went on sale, and with just over three weeks to go until the start of the new campaign, we wanted to make sure that people have a few more weeks to ensure that they guarantee their seat for every fixture here next season.

‘We can’t wait for the new season to start and for fans to come to a new and improved Loftus Road, thanks to all the hard work that has taken place over the summer.’

Russell who was appointed on the 16th January 2008, came to Rangers from Hearts of Midlothian, and in his time at Rangers he has helped to mastermind deals with Abbey, Gulf Air and Lotto.
