Oxford United boss Darren Patterson has praised QPR goalkeeper Jake Cole following the end of his loan spell.

Cole played just five times for the Blue Square Premier outfit before getting injured in his final game against Ebbsfleet, but manager Patterson was impressed with the way the R`s stopper comported himself during his spell at the Kassam,

‘I can’t praise Jake enough for the way he has come in here and been a total professional.” Patterson told OUFC.co.uk

” I’d like to thank everyone at QPR, especially Ian Dowie and Tim Flowers, for agreeing to him coming here.”

” I’m sure Jake has enjoyed his time with us. Unfortunately he picked up a niggling injury in pre-season which kept him out of the first game, and when he did come back that injury came back to haunt him after a while.” Patterson continued,

“But he showed what a good keeper he is, very commanding and a good shot stopper, with an absolutely outstanding attitude. “

“I have no doubt he can play at a higher level and we wish him well back at QPR.”

Cole conceded seven goals in five games, but nevertheless impressed the U`s manager and fans alike.

Jake returns to Rangers amid a busy goalkeeping department, with Radek Cerny and Lee Camp vying for their place between the sticks , with young American Reece Crowther making his way impressively through the ranks, the outlook appears bleak for Cole.
