“Outstanding Debut” “Natural Leader” – Some QPR Fans Delight In One Man’s Performance Despite Loss

|

Former Union Berlin centre-half Toni Leistner is already beginning to win over Queens Park Rangers fans, despite our opening day loss to Preston North End at Deepdale.

Our summer signing and new captain has been speaking himself about the performance and how it simply wasn’t good enough, and that can be read elsewhere on Vital QPR.

Although we lost the match 1-0 and there were plenty of reasons to legitimately criticise the performance and our attacking intent on the day – or potential lack thereof – and there was plenty of sense in fans talking about moving forward with a younger group of players (the benefits) but without key leadership in the main areas of the pitch it is essentially doomed to failure when pressure rises.

Leistner has his own part to play in that ‘experienced’ area and some fans believe that if the loss is to become an early blip rather than a sign of things to come, then he has a huge role to play in that on an individual basis and they are backing him to achieve just that.
