Everton loanee James Vaughan has been pin-pointed by Vital QPR as the One to Watch ahead of tomorrow’s clash at the Walkers Stadium.

Name: James Oliver Vaughan

Date of Birth: 14-07-1988 (Birmingham)

Former Clubs: Derby County (L)

Appearances (Goals): 50 (7)

Young forward James Vaughan had a good pedigree in the game before entering the first team fray at Goodison Park – with his good youth goal scoring record earning him call-ups for his country.

Vaughan’s positive scoring ratio earned him the right of being the youngest player to score in a Premier League game – beating both Wayne Rooney and James Milner to the gong.

He penned a professional deal at Goodison, but a knee ligament injury curtailed his season and indeed his progress as he fell down the pecking order at Everton.

In 2006-07 he impressed further however, scoring goals against Chelsea and West Ham United and earning the award of Young Player of the Season by the club.

Goals against AZ Alkmaar saw him progress further but unfortunately his season was blighted once more with a 19 month spell on the sidelines.

Vaughan fell behind the likes of Louis Saha in Everton’s striking hierarchy and as a result he was loaned out to Derby County – but only two appearances followed as he suffered a cartilage tear.

He bagged an important Premier League goal upon his return against relegation fodder Burnley – and despite Derby signalling their intention to re-sign him he opted to sign for Leicester City on loan.

Two appearances thus far have proved fruitless, although he is still highly-rated on Merseyside as he hopes his injury worries are behind him for the time being.
