Algerian international Hameur Bouazza is Vital QPR`s One to Watch against Charlton Athletic tomorrow night.
The French born left winger plies his trade for the Addicks on loan from Rangers` West London rivals Fulham. The 23-year-old has made five international appearances scoring a solitary goal for his country of his parent`s origin.
Bouazza started his career with Watford making his debut in a 2-2 draw against Sunderland in February 2004. He bagged his first goal for the Hornets in the following fixture, a 2-0 home win over Preston North End, a game in which current Rangers players Lee Cook and Gavin Mahon both played.
The following season the left-winger was granted more of a chance in the first team set-up making 36 appearances scoring three goals from wide areas. He also faced the R`s twice that season, coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 win at Vicarage Road, before being taken off after an hour in a 3-1 defeat at Loftus Road.
Another season under Aidy Boothroyd culminated in glory to which Hameur was a contributor, scoring two goals in 17 appearances. He was loaned out to League One Swindon Town to gain some first team experience making 15 appearances scoring three goals. The French winger`s season culminated as substitute in the play-off final victory over Leeds United replacing James Chambers on 72 minutes.
The Premier League beckoned for Bouazza and he relished his chance on the big stage making 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals. This included Watford`s solitary goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
This prompted Fulham to make a £3,000,000 move for the winger but a catalogue of injuries scuppered his chances at Craven Cottage, only appearing in 22 games in all competitions scoring a solitary goal against Manchester City in a 3-3 draw. Hameur was also given his first red card of his career away at Birmingham City in a 1-1 draw.
With first team opportunities limited at Craven Cottage the 5 ft 11 winger made the switch to Charlton Athletic on loan. Thus far this campaign he has made 17 appearances scoring three goals, two goals coming in the last two games.
Hameur Bouazza wears the number 34 for Charlton Athletic where he plays on the left flank in a 4-5-1/ 4-3-3 formation, call it what you will.
His blend of pace and power make him a tough prospect for whoever plays at right back, whether Peter Ramage or Mikele Leigertwood.
