Norwich City striker Grant Holt has been identified by Vital QPR as the One to Watch as the Rs welcome The Canaries to Loftus Road on Saturday as 3rd meets 1st in a top of the table clash.

Name: Grant Holt

Date of Birth: 12/4/81

Former Clubs: Halifax Town, Barrow, Sheffield Wednesday, Rochdale, Nottingham Forest, Blackpool, Shrewsbury Town

Appearances (Goals): 367 (140)

Experienced striker Grant Holt will be looking to help his team close in on leaders QPR as he looks to continue his impressive goalscoring form for Norwich. With over 350 career league appearances from the 29 year old, the front man has scored goals wherever he has travelled and his physical presence as well as clinical finishing will have to be under close scrutiny on Saturday.

The Carlisle-born player tasted his first league football with Halifax Town in 1999, but after leaving The Shay he dropped down into non-league with Barrow where an impressive 35 goals in 69 league appearances saw him move up north to Sheffield Wednesday. After failing to make an impact in Sheffield he moved to Rochdale in 2004.

It was with Rochdale that he really came to prominence and his 34 league goals from 75 league outings between 2004 and 2006 won him a host of admirers. A £300,000 move to Nottingham Forest followed in January 2006 and in the following season, Holt managed to score 18 goals in all competitions to become the clubs top goalscorer, consequently winning the clubs ‘Player of the Season` award.

A short loan spell at Blackpool preceded a move to Shrewsbury Town, who broke their club transfer record by signing Holt for £170,000 in the summer of 2008. His 28 goals played a major part in the Shrews progressing to the League Two Play-off Final where they lost 1-0 to Gillingham at Wembley.

On the 24th of July 2009 Holt moved to Norwich for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £400,000. Holt bagged his first, second and third City goals in the 4-0 away win over Yeovil Town, in the first round of the Carling Cup – his second match for City in August 2009.

The striker became only the fifth player in City history to score 30 goals in a season in Norwich`s 2009-10 League One title-winning season. With only 2 league goals to his name this season, Holt will be eager to add his tally on Saturday.
