“One of the best players I’ve ever seen”: QPR man makes claim over teammate as rumours build

|

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Amos has talked up Eberechi Eze’s talents and suggested top clubs will be missing out if they don’t secure a deal for the 21-year-old.

Amos joined the R’s on loan from Tottenham in the summer and he has enjoyed a bright season for the Hoops, featuring in 25 games under Mark Warburton, which has helped the side to within six points of the play-off places.

Whilst Amos has done well, it’s fair to say that Eze has been on another level, with his 12 goals and eight assists this season making him one of the most productive players in the entire division. And, he has clearly made an impact on the Spurs youngster, who explained to The Athletic just how good the attacking midfielder is and hinted that he would be urging his parent club to make a move, although he insists he hasn’t spoke to Eze about it.

A lot of Tottenham fans will be pleased to hear I’m really good friends with Ebe. It’s his career, it’s up to him what he wants to do. But he’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen. Any club he walks into, he’ll change. Someone’s got to do something quickly before they miss out.”

Is £20m fair for Eze?

No money is enough

We need more

That's a fair amount

No club will pay that

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Eze, with reports emerging in the past month suggesting that a £20m move could be on the cards for the England U21 international. However, on a more encouraging note for R’s fans, Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas indicated there are some doubts from Spurs as to whether the player would be able to make what would be a fairly significant step up.

Either way, QPR will have Eze for the rest of this season and they are just about in contention to win promotion after a six-game unbeaten run prior to the enforced break left them 13th in the Championship but within two wins of Preston North End who currently occupy sixth position.
