A tabloid newspaper understands that David O`Leary could be next in the frame to manage Queens Park Rangers.

The former Aston Villa and Leeds United boss is due to hold talks with Rangers chiefs according to Steve Bates of The People

He states:

“David O’Leary is the shock contender to take charge at QPR – with motor-racing boss Eddie Jordan involved in brokering a deal to install him at Loftus Road.

I understand Irishman O’Leary is interested in the post and talks are planned with Rangers’ owners Formula One bosses Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone and Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal.”

It would be O`Leary`s first job since 2006 after leaving Villa in acrimonious circumstances falling out with then chairman Doug Ellis.

In 334 games in management, O`Leary has a win percentage of 44%, famously steering Leeds United to the brink of the Champions League Final.

His name has been mentioned alongside the likes of former Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini and current caretaker boss Gareth Ainsworth.
