QUEENS Park Rangers continued their season preparations with a draw away at Northampton Town.

Played out in sweltering conditions at the Sixfields Stadium, Rangers did eventually take the advantage in the fixture when substitute Nasser El-Khayati cut in from the left flank before curling expertly into the bottom right-hand corner.

Rangers had looked organised and good value for their advantage with the impressive Olamide Shodipo giving the Cobblers rearguard more than a little to think about.

They did however not see out the victory courtesy of a fine strike from the League One club. Substitute Jordan Cousins back header was seized upon by Alex Revell, and the former Cardiff City man dispatched with aplomb on the volley.

A decent performance all round from the visiting side as they continue their Championship preparations.
