New player comes through the door at QPR – report

|

A new player has come through the door at QPR in the look of Marco Ramkilde, with the club snapping him up on a trial basis.

With the R’s losing their star striker in Nahki Wells in late January, they were unable to source a replacement, though Ramkilde has the potential be that player.

The news was broken by London Football News, who states that the Danish striker is currently looking for a new club after departing from Superliga club Aab.

The 21-year-old has allegedly already made an appearance for the U23s, helping his side defeat Watford 3-2.

Considering that the attacker has made just six appearances in his entire career, he might not be the replacement that QPR are after, though he could well be one for the future.

The forward has been without a club since his deal at Aalborg in 2019, but perhaps a move away from his home shores could be the mix-up he needs to kick on.

Would you like to see Jordan Hugill sign permanently?

Yes

No

Not sure

He clearly has talent, having played for many of Denmark’s youth teams, including scoring three goals in nine appearances for the U19s.

He’s not the only Scandinavian free agent being eyed up by the club, either, with former Forest defender Alexander Milosevic also being linked to the club by the Sun.

However, having a look at the two players’ careers, it seems like the latter might be the more appropriate option for the here and now.

Nahki Wells’ 13 goals this season will, of course, be a struggle for the club to replace with 13 games to go, but a 21-year-old striker who has barely experienced men’s football is probably not the option. He may be a talent and have a lot to give in the future, but there’s unlikely to be a big rush to get him in now, considering that Jordan Hugill is still at the club and has 10 goals to his name this season.
