Well, it appears what Ian Holloway wants, Ian Holloway gets! Last week the boss said he needed more funds to give QPR a boost in their attempts to make the play offs. Following a meeting, it seems the chairman, Gianni Paladini, has agreed and said there will be funds available in the winter transfer window.

Paladini said: ‘It’s up to (the manager) who he wants and, provided it’s the right player for this club and he fits into our wage structure, we will definitely try to bring him in. As long as it’s not silly money, there shouldn’t be a problem. We’ve already brought in seven or eight players this year and if we need to get someone else, it would probably be a striker.’

And in more welcome news for the boss, five QPR players are set to return from the treatment table and re-join the squad. Marc Bircham should be available after recovering from a hamstring problem. Both strikers Marc Nygaard, who had a calf injury and Dean Sturridge, who also suffered with a hamstring problem, could also return for this weekends game, as might club captain Kevin Gallen.

Meanwhile Martin Rowlands made a goalscoring return for the reserves this week as he had a 45 minute run out. The midfielder looks to have put his knee problems behind him.
