Pat Miller will have another go at refereeing Queens Park Rangers against Watford after postponing the earlier fixture.

Miller from Bedfordshire has been on the National List of Referees since 2005, during which time he has taken charge of several Championship clashes.

The official has only taken charge of the R’s three times however, but has presided over three Rangers wins in the Championship and League Cup.

A water-logged pitch at Loftus Road saw off the original fixture with Rangers back-tracking on their original statement that the game would indeed go ahead.

In 20 games this season he has handed out 60 yellow cards and four reds giving him a card average of 3.20 cards per game.

On Tuesday he will be assisted by Mr John Farries (Oxfordshire) and Mr Keith Yeo (Essex), with the fourth official Mr Ian Cooper (Kent).

Refereeing Rangers

Miller had his first taste of Rangers in action as he officiated the Carling Cup game between the R’s and Northampton Town.

Rangers’ bogey side went two goals down at Loftus Road with Lee Cook and Kevin Gallen putting the Championship side into a commanding lead. That was before Jerome Watt and Andy Kirk hauled the Cobblers level.

It was young forward Ray Jones that added to his growing reputation with a goal from the bench to secure Gary Waddock’s men passage into the next round.

Later that season there was a very different back-drop with John Gregory now in charge of the relegation threatened side as they headed to the Ricoh Arena. Stefan Moore’s effort was blocked on the line but loanee Jimmy Smith was on hand to fire home and give the R’s a crucial win.

The most recent clash presided over by Mr Miller was the New Years Day fixture with Leicester City and former QPR manager Ian Holloway.

Goals from Damion Stewart, Adam Bolder and Dexter Blackstock helped Luigi De Canio’s Rangers to victory at Loftus Road, with a wonderful free-kick from Iain Hume the only consolation for Olly’s eventually-relegated Foxes.
