Queens Park Rangers stand-in skipper Mikele Leigertwood is happy with the appointment of Paul Hart and has reiterated Rangers ambitions.

New boss Paul Hart picked up a decent point at home to a dogged Sheffield United side at the weekend, with Leigertwood’s opener cancelled out by Richard Cresswell.

Rangers moved up in the Championship thanks to the result, with Hart happy with his new side’s overall display – and Ledge is equally as happy to have the new boss around.

He said: “He is fresh out of the Premier League. Obviously he has the experience. And working under a pressure, situation as he did at Portsmouth, we`re happy to have him in.

“We know that we are good enough to go and get in the play-offs or even promoted. But we have to show that level of commitment and work hard to actually do it.”

Rangers host Bristol City on Boxing Day, both looking to shed an unwanted recent record – with both sides lacking wins in their respective faltering bids for a playoff place.

Gary Johnson received stinging criticism from sections of support for his side’s performance in the 1-1 draw at home to Reading – with the struggling visitors carving out the majority of opportunities.
