The best moment you`ve seen following QPR?

Besides that first magic moment of seeing your first live QPR game? For me that occurred in our glorious, magical 1967/1968 Division II Promotion Season. I’d imagine that for any QPR supporter, those initial games are the especially golden ones – in which you imprint upon your team.

But those games of Rodney Marsh and the Morgan twins, and the games in the late 1960s and early 1970s were , Stan Bowles and Dave Thomas first game?Phil Parkes first game..Terry Venables?

The worst moment you`ve seen following QPR?

Every QPR defeat you see is terrible. That was a terrible, humiliating year 1968/1969 season, in which almost every game saw a QPR loss. The 1973/74 FA Cup Quarter Final defeat to Leicester was a massive disappointment because we thought we were going to win. But probably nothing quite matches that Liverpool late victory at Wolves which stole away our championship. So devastating because even then one knew, that a moment never to be repeated, had come and gone.

For me of course, many of these disappointments have been experienced from afar. But were no less devastating : The Huddersfield result confirming relegation; the playoff final result; the FA Cup Final loss; the League Cup Final Loss; Alan Mullery’s UEFA Cup ‘capitulation.’

The best era to watch the R`s?

Has to be the late 60s and early 70s

What did you feel about the appointment of Iain Dowie?

Mixture of disappointment and relief. He is a known quantity and is competent and is the kind of appointment that a year or two would have loved. Now we probably felt that we had moved beyond a Dowie-type like appointment – especially after we had taken the European managerial route with De Canio. But that having been said, if you’re given enough resources you don’t need to be a complete managerial genius to win promotion.

Have the R`s fared how you expected in the transfer market?

To be honest, no – at least not yet. This is not the time for doom and gloom. Will be fairer to assess things in a few weeks. However, it’s clearly in our hands. If we will it, it is no dream

Who will be the key player(s) for Rangers this season?

God knows. Hopefully some 35 goal a season goalscorer we sign.

Where do you expect the R`s to finish this campaign?

I expect promotion. I don’t know what that’s based on. And I’m usually quite a pessimist – especially with respect to QPR, in adherence to the idiom: If something can go wrong; then it will. But in this specific instance, I just feel it’s going to happen and we are going up: This season. None of this three seasons to build nonsense.
