McClaren On More Frustration After Latest QPR Defeat

|

Having ended our run of seven straight defeats with an unexpected victory over Leeds United in the last Championship clash, today saw Queens Park Rangers make the trip to Griffin Park to face Brentford.

The aim was all three points once again, or at least remain unbeaten to get our season back on track.

The hosts dominated as you would expect given their current form levels, but they failed to make the possession pay, managing only one effort more than we did on goal in the opening 45 minutes, and neither side registered a shot on target.

A penalty five minutes into the second half swung the game in their favour and with just under 20 minutes remaining in the tie, they doubled their lead and we were still waiting for our first effort on target.

The effort on target finally came, but 3-0 was how it finished as they grabbed another five minutes into stoppage-time. Having created the same chances overall, they were just the more clinical side on the day.

Speaking to the media following the fulltime whistle, manager Steve McClaren said of the game.
