McClaren Confident QPR “Warrior” Will Play Major Role In The Coming Months

|

Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren has stated that on loan Brighton and Hove Albion “warrior” Tomer Hemed will have a key role to play in the remaining months of the campaign now that he’s back from his injury layoff.

It’s fair to say QPR have missed the 31-year-old as our form did take a nosedive as he dropped out of contention with an injury back at the beginning of December, and tensions are building in some areas of the fanbase given how the wheels have fallen off what had started to shape up like a very successful season.

With Hemed making a return at the beginning of February following a hernia operation, four appearances as a substitute and a goal in the last game against West Brom, McClaren told West London Sport that he has a major role to play now he comes back into his thoughts as a member of the starting XI.

“It was great to see him on the field because you can see he’s a leader and a warrior. I’m delighted with him scoring and he’s going to be an important player for us for the rest of the season. He’s not really had a run and got into a rhythm.”

With six consecutive defeats and with us slipping down to 18th place, the main concern is now being sucked into a relegation battle but as injuries begin to ease, there is reason for optimism.
