HARRY Redknapp has confirmed that Stephane Mbia should be okay to face Wigan Athletic next week.

The midfielder was stretchered off in the first period sporting a neck brace following an innocuous challenge with Gabriel Agbonlahor, prompting seven minutes of added on time at the end of the half.

The Frenchman was withdrawn and taken to hospital for scans, but Redknapp revealed to QPR.co.uk that he is hoping for him to be fit for the crunch clash against Wigan Athletic next week.

“He`s okay. He`s just got a bit of a neck injury,’ Redknapp revealed.

“He`s gone to hospital for a check-up, but I don`t think there`s any problem.

“He should be fit for next week.”

Mbia has excelled having been reinstated to his preferred position of central midfield and his withdrawal certainly had an effect on the flow of the encounter that eventually ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
