Match Stats: QPR v Sheffield United – Back To Back Losses For McClaren

Having opened the 2018/19 Championship campaign with a defeat to Preston North End, Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren headed back to Loftus Road for today’s clash with Sheffield United.

A big delight for fans was in seeing Luke Freeman remain on the starting sheet following the transfer window speculation that surrounded him and promises from Tony Fernandes that he wouldn’t be sold.

The game started well enough I suppose as Ebere Eze opened the scoring in the 29th minute to give us the advantage, but despite having more opportunities across the 90 minutes we couldn’t get that second and just ahead of the halftime break Billy Sharp had the visitors back on level terms.

A 65th minute penalty from David McGoldrick gave Sheffield United the lead and unfortunately for us, that was where the scoring ended on the day and we fell to a 2-1 defeat as they staged a fightback.

Steve McClaren continues looking for that elusive first win of the season and fans will continue to be undoubtedly disappointed.
