Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Mariner has expressed his satisfaction that the fixture at Loftus Road was postponed.

Mariner expressed his concerns regarding the fixture yesterday given the testing conditions around the country at present.

The game was called off owing to safety concerns around the ground, rather than inside the stadium where the pitch was deemed playable.

Speaking to pafc.co.uk Mariner was quick to praise authorities for their decision, indicating that safety of supporters was the most important factor.

‘It is a sensible decision,’ he said.

‘If you look at the weather forecast, it’s not going to be great in London and the safety of supporters has to be of paramount importance.

‘We could have got there and they [QPR] have under-soil heating, so the game could have gone ahead, but with nobody watching. The weather is probably going to get worse between now and kick-off time.’

It remains unclear when the game will be replayed but a date is expected to be announced in due course.
