FEDERICO Macheda has been fined £15,000 relating to comments made on Twitter.

The Manchester United loanee has been hit with the fine in relation to what were deemed homophobic comments against the backdrop of the Justin Campaign.

The Justin Campaign – named after openly homosexual footballer Justin Fashanu – was founded in 2008, ten years after his tragic suicide.

Lee Steele, Michael Ball, Nile Ranger and Ravel Morrison have all felt the full force of the FA in recent weeks, and young forward Macheda is the latest to incur a financial penalty.

He could also be in hot water with Mark Hughes after questioning his selection policy via the same channel – while Hughes was keen to play the issue down, it certainly will not help Macheda’s quest for a start.
