Bristol City boss Gary Johnson was impressed with on-trial goalkeeper Martin Lejsal in their victory over Dorchester.

The Czech stopper is currently on trial with the Robins after a period with Queens Park Rangers on their tour of Slovenia and Croatia.

Goals from John Akinde and new boy Danny Haynes saw Bristol City to the victory and Johnson liked what he say in Lejsal.

‘Martin did everything he needed to well,” Johnson told bcfc.co.uk

“But he didn’t have a great deal to do, so we’ll have to pepper him in training and maybe look at him against Wolves.

‘He certainly looks the part and he’s a big player out in the Czech Republic. We need to give him every opportunity.’

City`s keeper problem became more imminent in recent days with the news that Brazilian keeper Adriano Basso has handed in a transfer request at Ashton Gate.

With new capture Dean Gerken returning against Weymouth on Tuesday, things are improving, but Johnson conceded that while new captures aren`t imminent, are required.
