Released Queens Park Rangers keeper Reece Crowther is reportedly the subject of interest from an Australian A-League Club.

Wellington Phoenix are offering the Australian stopper a trial following his release from W12 where he will have a chance to impress former Coventry City goalkeeper and assistant coach Jonathan Gould.

The 20-year-old American born keeper spent his foremost years growing up in Australia and moved over to England to join QPR in 2006.

Despite being a regular for the reserves and linking up with Radek Cerny on the field before several Championship fixtures Crowther was yesterday (Wednesday) deemed surplus to requirements at Loftus Road.

He would be joining a club that contains former English Football League pedigree in the form of Leo Bertos (Barnsley) and Chris Greenacre (Manchester City, Stoke City, Tranmere Rovers.)
