Speaking ahead of the FA Cup clash with Sheffield United this weekend defender Kaspars Gork?s believes it’s important to pick up wins wherever possible.

Speaking to QPR.co.uk the Latvian international stated that while form has not been good, he is keen to bounce back against Sheffield United this weekend.

‘A Cup run can breed confidence and that’s what we need to do – get our confidence back,’ he said.

‘A win at Sheffield United would certainly do that, and then we could work to build on that and have a better second half to the season.’

‘I wouldn’t say that it is good to get away from the pressure of the league. When you lose like we did at Ipswich, you want to have another league match right away so that you can put in a good performance and forget all about that game.

‘But our focus now is on the Cup game. The FA Cup is a very exciting competition and we want to progress in it.’

Rangers form in the FA Cup is poor however, in fact they have not picked up a win in the competition since beating Luton Town in a replay in 2001.

Since then the likes of Vauxhall Motors, Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and Burnley last year have got the better of Rangers at the first time of asking.
